About 1,000 animals have passed through the doors of the RSPCA Birmingham new flagship RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre in its first year of opening. Staff counted the number of dogs, cats and small animals trying EBook Farm since it opened a year ago and was found to be 999. They took in and found homes for 247 dogs, 567 cats RSPCA Birmingham and 185 rabbits, rats, guinea pigs and hamsters since last November.
In its first year, the hospital treated 7,130 animals, including many species of wildlife. The center, Frankly Green Lane, Frankly, will be officially opened on 20 November by the Duke of Gloucester. It replaced the original center and the RSPCA Barnes Hill hospital, which closed after serving the city for 50 years.
Manager, Elaine Buchanan, said: RSPCA Birmingham We were very surprised and amused to note that the number was 999. It seems very appropriate, considering that many people are calling the emergency service for animals. It is now almost a year since I started taking in animals in the new center, and it is amazing what we have tried. The new center is a great place to work RSPCA Birmingham and it really helped to have an impact on our animal welfare work.
Ms. Buchanan said were unique as a center for animal welfare because they had three frontline services on one site. This means we can fully meet the needs of our animals through the inspection, the hospital and the center of the animals, he said. We saw animals of all shapes and sizes and races pass through our doors this year. But no matter what they are RSPCA Birmingham, there is nothing better than seeing your way to your new home.
