HOUSTON, TX The Houston SPA and Texas A spca Houston & M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences have joined forces to create a new program that exposes students of veterinary cases of animal cruelty, neglect and trauma dogs, cats and other pets, horses and donkeys, cattle, exotic animals and native wildlife.
The spca Houston association is considered the largest animal shelter and veterinary school in the United States to go beyond the typical scope of treatment and care of dogs and cats. The fourth-year students at the University of Texas A & M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences rotate through a two-week program necessary to Houston SPCA where they will work with experts in cases of cruelty to animals, spca Houston neglect and trauma.
The program, according to Houston SPA President Patricia Mercer, is to ensure future veterinarians many practice in Texas more knowledge about the full spectrum of medicine became a shelter spca Houston and protection of animals, including research and rescue forensics for all species. The Houston SPCA is investigating more than 9,000 cases of abuse and neglect of animals each year.
